THEY WERE JUST ROLLIN' ...

and we had an absolutely unique evening: More than three hours Mr. Dylan played his most inspiring set in front of a wonderful crowd in a wonderful venue. Still not enough he was accompanied by his brilliantly picking old buddy Mark Knopfler ...

Wow, what more can you ask for ;-)

READY TO PLAY!

... well lately there weren't posted hardly any news to this blog as we all have had packed agendas! Sorry folks!

Still I took some time to finish one of my recent projects: My first custom-build speakers are now ready to play!

It lasted me quite a while to plan and precisely assemble this ultra-heavy pair of speakers (15 kg each). But last week I screwed the speakers in place, did all the wiring and insulation and finally slid the plywood-box into a satined stainless steel housing.

And even-though the overall look was obviously inspired by the work of Dieter Rams or Johnny Ive quite much I'm more than happy with a perfectly neat finish and of course with smooth and mellow tones filling up the room.

THERE AIN'T NO GRAVE ...

... can hold his spirit down!

So when you are listening to the new but final record of Johnny Cash you will again have to face death – turning his long and lonely struggle to your own.

Likewise you will for sure find so much love and peace in this last ten haunting songs!

Aloha Oe, Johnny

»ONCE« ...

... there was a lovely movie out in the cinemas – now there's lovely music!

How fun is that?

Firstly we saw that film playing in Dublin. Secondly we roamed exactly the same streets when visiting Dublin on January, 1st. And finally we by chance grabbed this CD when shopping at HMV, Grafton Street, Dublin ... ;-)

RAP IN THE CITY

While Jule is listening to a lot of Jazz recently I decided to have a closer look on Hip-Hop music again.

Since I wanted to see whether there is some progress in some artists careers I bought amongst others the latest records by Mos Def and B-Real two artists I used to listen to all my younger days.

I learned that they indeed were undergoing a certain development. But even though they for sure came up with two nicely-mixed records – to me their music is not that thrilling any longer.

Or is it that I simply like the older records so much more because they trip me down a dim memory lane ;o)

Make your mind up yourself – this is just if you like to ...

HEY MR. DIDGERIDOO-MAN ...

... play a song for me! In bi, ba, boring Mönkebergstrasse and I'll come singin' with you!

Unfortunately you can't listen to all these strange sounds coming out of some old plastic drainpipes but one thing you can tell: This weirdo just rocks!

¡Hasta luego!

ANALOGUE TIMES

This weekend we had rainy weather so we decided to sort out some old stuff – somehow a pretty boring thing to!

Yet I found some old audio tapes which make me feel like a 15 years younger – great ;o)

If you are interested in analogue music or rather in the old graphics from that time you should know this most inspiring website ...

Enjoy!

TOGETHER THROUGH LIFE ...

... what a nice way to entitle a story resuming your whole life – what a nice record! So even if you don't like Dylan that much you will probably love these new tunes as much as I do ...

WHAT A PRECIOUS GIFT: TRASH METAL!

I had absolutely no clue what was inside this plain white envelope Jule gave to me last monday. But inside there was one of these tickets I madly tried to bid on eBay for an affordable price yet always failed within the last second. I'm not really able to discribe my emotions only now ;-)

But let me tell you just this: Seeing Metallica live on stage is even more overwhelming than holding that bloody ticket in your hands!!! Never knew that »Nothing Else Matters« creeps under your skin that much!

Moreover I met Emma and Sven and together we spend a hell of a good time!!!

Jule – thank you sooooooooooo much!

THIS OLD ROAD

This 2006 released record, yet one of the latest records, by multi-talentet actor and musician Kris Kristofferson is well worth buying.

The perfect soundtrack just right to listen to when driving around in your old Mercedes ;-)

On some tracks his voice even sounds like good old Johnny Cash'.

This track I like most: »This old road«

Enjoy!

SOME GOOD SONGS!

Even though I already told you to get hands on the new Faithfull record the picture above might remind you to head for the next record store downtown Buenos Aires. To me it's her best record ever which mirrors a lifetime of Rock 'n' Roll so nicely – tell me what you think ...

Well and here's another one: Dylan.

To be honest I was never really liked his tunes too much as I somehow thought this guy is way out of my time. Anyway, since I stumbled upon this cd when being in Enschede (Netherlands) for the last time I was delighted to learn that this record is a remarkable compilation of all his best songs ever! It's not the onehundredsomething best of album but a worth buying longplayer you should definitively have in your collection ...

Enjoy ...

MATIAS IS SEEING FREEDOM WRITERS FILM...

Freedom Writers. Awesome, powerful, uplifting film, based on a real life story. Another prodigy around us. Great music selection too (80's I reckon, jazzy rap vibes in it). Enjoy! ¡Saludos!

I AM A YES MAN!

Yes!, I wanted to see that film. Yes, I hope you'd seen it. Yes, I'd recommend it if you haven't done so yet. And yes it's one of the best comedy films I've seen in a long time, there's even a positive message in it, even if it's somehow only mentioned.

Yes!, the soundtrack is interesting as a reminder of the film, due to
Munchausen by Proxy, a band depicted on the film, with a nice couple of songs such as Uh-Huh. Quite '80s. Sweet voice belongs to Zooey Deschanel, actress on the film, looking a bit as Meg Ryan maybe.

YES!, YES!, Yes Man, gets you wired just like a RedBull I reckon.

¡Saludos!
